Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan — a city that knows what it means to build something from nothing — Sha Berry moved to Los Angeles in 2013 chasing a music career. What he found was something bigger than a record deal. He found a broken system.
Creators were signing contracts they couldn’t read, deals they didn’t understand, futures they were unknowingly giving away. Sha built the solution: a red-line contract tool that speaks your language — breaking down every clause, every term, every obligation in plain English. K.P. Ogunbase started in the classroom — years teaching in Japan, then Teach For America — where he learned that a system nobody understands is a system nobody uses.
Then he went inside the machine. Nearly a decade shipping product at the companies that build the tools — Superhuman, Newsela, and today as a Senior Product Manager in AI/ML at a leading education-technology company. The whole career sits where the roadmap meets the room — turning what the business wants into what engineers build into what people use.
And he builds with his own hands. Agent systems, AI products, full applications — specified, coded, shipped. The product manager who writes the spec, then opens the terminal and builds it.
The name is not a brand exercise. Ogunbase is Yoruba — from Ogun, the orisha of iron and technology, patron of everyone who makes things with tools and fire. The blacksmith. He didn’t pick the name. He just kept the job.

Steve Jobs didn’t hire engineers to build the iPod. He recruited
musicians, poets, historians, and calligraphers —
people who understood human experience first, and let the technology
